Job Description

  • Teaching various aspects of the English language (reading, writing, listening, speaking, conversation and grammar) to Chinese students.

  • Working between 15 to 25 actual teaching hours per week teaching classes of various sizes, small groups and one to one sessions. 

  • Attending meetings, training sessions, English corners and promotional demos as required.   

  • Planning lessons, marking home-work and measuring student progress.

  • You will not be expected to speak Mandarin Chinese in class. Bilingual assistants will provide support where necessary.

  • All contracts are for one-year initially and come with the option to extend for additional years.

  • Most of our posts commence in August, however, we have some positions available with immediate starts and recruit continuously.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salaries upwards of £1000 per month. Pay could be as high as £2500 per month depending on your qualifications and experience and the location of the post.   

  • Free accommodation or rent subsidy, free TEFL course if required,*  visa fee reimbursement as well as assistance with your visa application and free international flights.

  • Pre-departure support from UK based GTIC staff and arrival support in China from your employer including airport pickup and training.

  • Additional workplace support including orientation, setting up a Chinese bank account, arranging a mobile phone, organising Chinese lessons etc. Some employers provide Chinese lessons free of charge.   

Salaries and benefits packages do vary to some degree according to the employer. We will work with you to secure the best possible salary and benefits package.

*In order to teach in China you will need a Z working visa. You may need to complete a short China TEFL course before you can be granted your Z working visa. This course will be arranged and paid for by GTIC and its partners. For further information click on the link below.
